Back at Indy

Welcome to the inaugural post of “Up to Speed,” a blog created to share photos and news that are in addition to the race coverage provided by the Sports staff of The News-Sentinel in Fort Wayne, Ind. During the month of May the Indy 500 takes center stage, and I will be at the track several times throughout the month.
Starting this week at Pole Day, I’ll be posting photos, short bits of news and possibly video as often as I can get back to the media center at Indianapolis Motor Speedway. For race reports and more thorough coverage, check out News-Sentinel.com to read the stories and commentary from staff writers Reggie Hayes and Pete DiPrimio.
I expect to keep the race coverage going well after Indy as I will be attending local stock car events, dirt tracks such as Tony Stewart’s Eldora Speedway, and a number of NASCAR races starting on June 15 at Brooklyn, Mich. with the LifeLock 400.
This blog is intended to be interactive, so please leave a comment if you like what you see or take a minute to drop a story idea my way. I am always amazed at the amount of knowledge race fans have compared to other sports, so share some of it with me.
Thanks for giving us a look.
